📱 Getting started with eSIM
✅ Activation
First-time only — KYC verification.
If this is your first activation on the account you'll see a Verification required prompt. Tap Okay and complete the one-time KYC:
- Document Type — Passport, Driver Licence or Visa.
- Date of Birth.
- First Name and Last Name — exactly as they appear on the document.
- Document Number — passport number, licence number or visa number.
Tap Confirm. You'll see a KYC completed screen with a green Verification successful banner. If you've already completed KYC on a previous activation, this step is skipped automatically — you go straight to the next screen.
Then choose one of two options:
- Choose a new number — BlazeMobile assigns you a fresh Australian mobile number.
- Transfer your existing number — keep your current number by porting it in from your old carrier.
Complete the steps and tap Submit Request. Activation typically completes within a few minutes and the status badge on your Home screen updates to Active (shown in green) once it's live.
Do it once, skip it after. KYC is tied to your BlazeMobile account, not to each SIM. If you've already completed KYC on a previous activation, any new SIM you activate on the same account skips the KYC step and goes straight to the Choose a new number / Transfer your existing number screen.
🔄 Port in (keep your number)
- Your SIM Number — pre-filled automatically from your BlazeMobile account.
- Your existing mobile number — the number you want to keep.
- Your current provider — select from the dropdown list.
- Connection type — choose Prepaid or Postpaid to match your current account type.
- An additional detail based on your connection type:
- Prepaid — enter your Date of Birth as registered with your current carrier.
- Postpaid — enter your existing account (billing) number from your current carrier.
- Tap Send Verification Code — a code is sent to your existing number to confirm ownership.
- Enter the code and tap Submit Request to complete the port.
- Your current mobile number (the one you want to keep)
- Your current carrier name
- Whether your existing plan is Prepaid or Postpaid
- For Prepaid: your Date of Birth as registered with your current carrier
- For Postpaid: your existing account (billing) number
- Access to your current SIM (to receive the verification SMS)
- The mobile number entered doesn't match what's on your old carrier's account
- You selected the wrong connection type (Prepaid vs Postpaid)
- Your old account has an outstanding debt or is already cancelled
- The number is under a port freeze or barred for porting
📲 BlazeMobile app
The rest is only asked for when you go to purchase a plan — a payment method (debit or credit card) to check out, and a government-issued ID (Passport, Driver Licence or Visa) for our one-time KYC identity check at first activation.
⚙️ Account settings
Note: your primary (default) payment method can't be removed — at least one card must remain on the account at all times. If you want to remove your current default, add or promote another card as the default first, then remove the old one.
🛠️ Manage your service
- Manage Service — change your number, edit the Network Profile, port out, resend the eSIM QR, suspend, resume or cancel the plan, and contact support about that SIM.
- Set as Main Service — mark this number as your primary line in the app (useful on multi-SIM accounts).
- Edit Nickname — rename this SIM (e.g. "Alicia's iPhone", "Kids iPad") so it's easy to identify on the Home screen.
- Policy Requests — see the status of every request you've submitted for this SIM (Suspend, Resume, Number Change, Network Profile change, etc.) with timestamps and outcomes.
Note: the Number Change option is only visible for services with an Active status. It doesn't appear on SIMs that are still Ready to Activate, In Progress or otherwise not yet activated.
- Incoming Calls — calls dialled to your number. Off = callers hear an unavailable message.
- Outgoing Calls — calls you make from your phone. Off = the call won't connect.
- Call Hold — ability to put a call on hold and take a second one. Off = call-waiting and hold are disabled.
- Caller ID — whether your number is shown when you call out. Off = your number is presented as Private/Withheld.
- Voicemail — voicemail box for missed/rejected calls. Off = callers can't leave a message.
- Data — mobile data over 4G/5G. Off = no internet over the cellular network (Wi-Fi still works).
- Incoming SMS — text messages sent to your number. Off = senders get a delivery failure.
- Outgoing SMS — text messages you send. Off = SMS won't send (including premium-rate codes).
- MMS — picture/video messaging. Off = no MMS send or receive.
- Roaming — using your service overseas. Off = no calls, SMS or data outside Australia.
- IDD (International Direct Dialling) — outgoing calls from Australia to international numbers. Off = your phone can't dial overseas numbers, even if you have calling credit. On by default.
Changed your mind? You can re-activate the service from the same card in the BlazeMobile app — no need to sign up again or repeat KYC. Your account, saved payment methods and history stay in place; just choose a plan and reactivate.
- Completed (green) — the change is live on your service.
- Pending (yellow) — the request is being processed.
- Failed (red) — the change didn't apply. Retry from the same menu, or contact support@blazemobile.com.au if it keeps failing.
Handy check any time you're wondering whether a suspend/resume/network-profile toggle actually went through.
💳 Plans & pricing
On Couple and Family plans, data sharing across all active SIMs on the account is automatic — there's nothing to set up. Whichever SIM needs data draws from the shared pool until the pool runs out.
🧾 Account & billing
- From the BlazeMobile app — go to Account Settings and select Delete Account.
- By email — send a request to support@blazemobile.com.au from the address on your account.
